FTSE-100 software giant AVEVA reports Thursday

The week ahead

AVEVA Group plc (LON: AVV), which provides engineering and industrial software, reports its interim results on Thursday. In its trading update last month it said it expects to report first-half revenue of about £333mln, which reflects an organic constant currency revenue decline of 7%. This was broadly in-line with the group’s plan for the shape of the year. The company said the order pipeline for the remainder of the financial year was strong and it expected to see solid revenue growth in the second half.

Some focus will be on how the outlook has shifted in light of the COVID-19 second wave and subsequent lockdowns. AVEVA announced the proposed acquisition of California-based OSIsoft in August for an enterprise value of US$5 billion and we will be looking for commentary on how the deal is progressing.

Small-cap Seeing Machines Ltd (LON:SEE) has reported final results today and Proactive is hosting a results webcast on the Proactive website.

Across the pond, technology-related businesses expected to report earnings this week include ON Semiconductor, Cirrus Logic, Rambus, Skyworks, ANSYS, Scientific Games, GoDaddy, Qualcomm, Qualys, Zynga, Paycom, Paylocity, Cloudflare, GoPro, Microchip, Yelp, Bigcommerce, HubSpot, MACOM Technology, Sailpoint Technologies, Viavi Solutions, Kronos and Upland Software.
